Content Monitoring Policy

Last updated September 2026

1. Purpose

Mongjee is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and lawful environment for all users. This policy describes the standards we apply to all user-generated content on the platform — including item listings, trips, written updates, comments, messages and profile content — and explains how violations are identified and addressed.

2. Scope of Content

This policy applies to all content generated by users: item listings (titles, descriptions, images, prices), trips and their banner photos, written updates, comments and replies, reviews, private messages between users, and profile photos, usernames and bios.

3. Prohibited Content

The following content is prohibited on Mongjee:

Sexual, pornographic, or explicit material of any kind. Hate speech targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. Harassment, intimidation, threats, or bullying. Content promoting illegal activity (drug sales, fraud, human trafficking). Listings featuring counterfeit goods, weapons, or narcotics. Disinformation, deceptive product claims, or false pricing. Content infringing third-party intellectual property. Spam or unsolicited promotions. Content involving minors in any inappropriate or commercial context. Graphic violence or self-harm content.

4. Monitoring Mechanisms

Identity pre-screening: Personal Shoppers must pass identity verification before they can list an item or receive a payout, so anybody selling on Mongjee is a traceable, verified individual. Posting an update or replying to a buyer is not gated this way, so a new shopper can build an audience while verification is in review.

Review queue: Identity submissions and reported content are worked through in an internal tool by authorised staff. Reports are ordered oldest first, so nobody waits behind a newer report.

User Reporting: All users can report content or profiles they believe violate this policy. Reported items are queued for priority review. See the Report Policy for details.

Blocking: Separately from reporting, any user can block another from their profile, from anything they posted, or from a conversation. It is mutual and immediate, and it does not require us to agree or to act first.

Shopper moderation: A shopper can delete any comment on their own update, and anyone can delete their own comment.

5. Admin Control Platform

Mongjee operates an internal review tool accessible only to authorised staff. It provides identity submission review (approve, or reject with a written reason the applicant is shown), a queue of reported content showing what was actually reported, removal of content with a reason that is sent to whoever posted it, and account suspension and reinstatement. Removals are reversible, and every decision records who made it and when.

6. Enforcement Actions

When a content violation is confirmed, Mongjee may take one or more of the following actions depending on severity: content removal, formal warning, temporary suspension, permanent account ban, or reporting to law enforcement where the content involves illegal activity.

7. Appeals

Users who believe enforcement action was taken in error may appeal by contacting [email protected] within 14 days. Appeals are reviewed by a senior administrator not involved in the original decision, with outcomes communicated within 5 business days.
